  • Carol E. Caracand, VMD, Practice Owner

Ever since she was followed home from elementary school by a special needs dog, Dr. Caracand has had a love for animals and an intense interest in the perplexities of veterinary medicine.  But life's paths often get detoured and her pre-veterinary education was put on hold.  After obtaining her BA from Shippensburg University, Dr. Caracand worked at a major pharmaceutical company.  During that time she earned her credits to apply to veterinary school.  However, marriage took her to New York City where she obtained her MS from New York University in Immunology.  She  took a job with a prestigious veterinary hospital in New York and then applied to the University of Pennsylvania.    After graduation in 1984, she started working as an associate veterinarian at the Devon Animal Hospital and in l988 she purchased it and renamed it the Devon Veterinary Hospital.  The recent renovation and the accreditation by the Anerican Animal Hospital Association are dreams come true for Dr. Caracand.  She is proud of her staff and their commitment to the continuation of the best quality care for our companion animals.  Dr. Caracand and her husband, Elie, are pet parents to three dogs and two cats.

  • Tania Tardiff, Manager

In 2001, after receiving her Communications degree from Penn State University (Go Lions!), Tania began working at Devon Veterinary Hospital as a part time receptionist. Her plan was to work part time at the hospital while actively searching for a "career" on her time off. After using every excuse as to why other jobs would not suffice, Tania realized it would be easier to accept the fact she had grown to love her spot in the DVH family. In 2003, Tania accepted the position of Office Manager and has been with DVH ever since. Tania shares her office with her miniature dachshund, Talia (named by her husband who thought it would be convenient if both names were similar so mixing them up would not be as bad).
